Born in Molins de Rei, Barcelona, he combined its classical studies with those of jazz, mainly at Taller de Músics. He has attended several seminars and international courses, where he attended to classes with musicians like Dave Liebman, Mulgrew Miller, John Abercrombie, Ed Thigpen, Tete Montoliu, Kurt Rosenwinkel or Brad Mehldau, among others. He has been teacher at several schools, like the Cervera and Igualada conservatoires, at Taller de Músics (where he is coordinator of the Combo Area) or at ESMUC (Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya).

Apart from leading its own trio and being part of groups like Alguímia or Carme Canela Quartet, he has played with soloists like Benny Golson, Dick Oatts, Don Braden, James Moody, Jean Toussaint, Bill McHenry, Joe Magnarelli, Peter King, Jesse Davis, Scott Hamilton, Harry Allen, Grant Stewart or Peter Bernstein in international festivals, clubs and auditoriums, in Spain as well as in several countries in Europe. He is now a days the main arranger at the Sant Andreu Jazz Band, and he is one of the musical directors, composers and arrangers at Esmuc Jazz Project.

He has been awarded with several prizes, like the Primera Mostra de Jazz per a Joves (1993); the best CD 1995 by the AMJC (Associació de Músics de Jazz de Catalunya), with "Son Song" by Joan Monné Trio; the Catalan Record 1996 by Radio 4, with "Introducing" by Carme Canela; the Young Catalan Record 1997, with "U" by Alguímia; the best interpreter of piano 2000 by the AMJC; and the best group 2006, with Joan Monné Nou Nonet.

Out of jazz music, he has participated in several TV programs, he has composed music for theater, he has performed with classical orchestras, like the Orquestra de Cambra del Teatre Lliure, the Symphonic Orchestra of Valencia or the OBC, as well as with artists like Donna Hightower, Raimon, Lucrecia, Nina or Ute Lemper.

Among its recordings we could highlight Son Song, Mireia and Standards (Joan Monné Trio), Nou (Joan Monné Nou Nonet), Introducing, Iris, Granito de Sal and Ballads (Carme Canela), European Tour 2019 (Benny Golson) or Voces (Perico Sambeat Big Band).
